Italians know that to create delicious, savory dishes they not only must use fresh ingredients but put their love of food and people into the creation. Sammy V, owner of Sammy’s Cucina learned this at a very young age—lucky for us!

Sammy began working at his parent’s restaurant, Vassallo’s, in 1987 and has since became a master at producing the perfect menu and atmosphere for his customers. As the former owner of Sammy V’s in Wyandotte he created his fan base by providing 11 years of excellent food, service and friendship to Downriver.

Now Sammy has reappeared in Brownstown at the corner of West and Telegraph in the Kroger Shopping Center. His new place Sammy’s Cucina specializes in Italian & American cuisine and focuses on carryout and catering, although there is seating for those that wish to stay awhile and catch up with Sammy. His warm hospitality is only one step behind his delectable creations.

The Cucina is very quaint and designed with granite, tile and wood to provide the rustic, intimate feeling which partners so well with Sammy’s food, and Sammy. Besides seating for 24 it offers Wireless access and TV’s to keep the kids or sports enthusiast happy.

Sammy’s new identity seemed a perfect fit for today’s society of busy people. A call ahead and can provide you with a cup of soup to go or dinner for 1 to 24. Make sure when you visit to grab one of the catering menus your next office party, community meeting or dinner on a busy night. Sammy knows how tough schedules can get being a husband to Michelle, father to three teenagers, and running a business. Home-cooked meals where a thing of the past---but now you have Sammy’s Cucina!
